Strada Client Project Hosts Launch of HPD’s Supportive Preservation Program

Strada is proud to share that a project we support was the site of the launch of a major new City housing initiative. In June 2026, the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) announced its new Supportive Preservation Program at Nazareth Housing’s Park Avenue Thorpe residence, a building that has provided stable, sustainable housing to families experiencing homelessness for nearly four decades. Strada Deputy Director Avery Dement, who is leading this project, was invited to attend the announcement.

The city-wide initiative will provide critical investments to help preserve nearly 39,000 supportive housing units across the five boroughs, including Park Avenue Thorpe. For that building, the program means funding to update and maintain the property for years to come, allowing Nazareth Housing to continue providing safe, sustainable housing and supportive services to the families who call it home.
